“No matter what you still identify with, at its core it is a collection of ousia. It is still some building blocks of separation that you consider to be you. And no ousia, no building block of separation, can go beyond separation!
So, obviously, if you want to go beyond separation, if you want to ascend, you have to let go of your identification. And what’s more, you also have to let go of consciousness-space as such! Why? Because consciousness-space, perception and separation are mutually dependent. They emerge together and they vanish together! You cannot have one without the other two! So, if you want to let go of separation, you also need to let go of consciousness-space.
How does this insight feel?
I would say that this is hard to swallow. Because letting go of consciousness-space will catapult you into the abstract. You can somehow accept that there is no physical space and that you are not a physical body. Okay, fine. But without consciousness-space, you are not even a collection of points of perception, not even a vague bundle of memories!
So, letting go of consciousness-space means that you will lose even your last foothold in separation. And there is no way for you to perceive or imagine what you are beyond consciousness-space. Yes, you can fantasize about it. But if you do, you do it from within consciousness-space. And that would be just another piece from the madhouse of illusions.”
